
ORLANDO, Fla. – July 16, 2018 – A study looked at energy costs by state. Overall, Florida ranks dead last in the number of people who use natural gas, perhaps because it costs more than in any other U.S state. But Floridians rank No. 4 in their use of electricity, and the cost is fairly low. The state ranked No. 39 in a state-by-state comparison.
As coal and nuclear plants continue to shut down, website WalletHub released its report on 2018’s Most & Least Energy-Expensive States.
WalletHub says it compared the average monthly energy bills in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia using a special formula that accounts for electricity, natural gas, motor fuel and home heating oil.
